And Yes

I can't cheer for at least a month. I have mono. Physics isn't fun. I wish that I wasn't so tired.
Auditions for A Midsummer Night's Dream were today. We'll see...auditioned for Hermia/Helena, but so did everyone else, so...yay. Gosh I'm so tired.
We can't let the blog die again...it's had way too short of a reincarnation.
I'm very happy to be home.

thats all. embrace freckles.(haha) good night.

Hum Drum

I just finished up my exams. My room is a mess because I've been packing. I'm leaving tomorrow. This is so, so weird.
My dad is currently driving around Cambridge aimlessly, trying to find his hotel along all the crazy one-way streets. I'm not flying home because we are visiting colleges along the way. First stop - Yale! Ha I'm such a traitor.
But it's basically because Nikki wants a hoodie.

3 Days Until I Leave

It is hard to explain how completely mixed my feelings are about leaving. On one hand, I don't think that there is anything I would like more than being at home with my friends and family...but on the other hand...I can't bear the thought that I might never be back here again. It's really been great. Really. Sigh.
I have to start packing! Wow is that going to be an adventure. I'm lucky that I'm not flying home, because there is no way all of my stuff would fit into my suitcases...or onto a plane, for that matter. Imagine investing all the stuff you have in the stockmarket...and then the stock doubles overnight...yeah, basically, that is the amount of stuff I need to somehow get back home.
I've finished my exam for journalism...last night, actually, which was more like early this morning...but I've just begun my Shakespeare paper. Heh it's not even half a page long yet, and it needs to be around six pages. I'm not too worried, though. There's still a lot left to write about how Oberon and Titania compare to Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine in James Goldman's The Lion in Winter. I think. Heh, wow. Ich bin ein Dummkopf. For real.
I don't know why I'm so tired. I need a sleep break. I love Harvard.
Natalie
OMG I can't believe I forgot to say all that stuff about Sheema's bday. Heh, another time. It's not even that interesting, but it was fun.

I Seriously Miss My Sister

There is no reason for this conversation to be in here, no one has to read it, it is basically just for me. But of course you are welcome to.
yellosubmrinechk (11:34:09 PM): DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE 3RD HARRY POTTER MOVIE IS?
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:34:17 PM): no...
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:34:27 PM): do you know where my brain is?
yellosubmrinechk (11:34:38 PM): you left it at home
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:34:54 PM): dang i knew i forgot to pack something
yellosubmrinechk (11:35:21 PM): cause lexa randomly came over and wanted harry potter 3
yellosubmrinechk (11:35:25 PM): i felt bad
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:35:25 PM): maybe the hp movie is in a CD case?
yellosubmrinechk (11:35:30 PM): maybe
yellosubmrinechk (11:35:34 PM): did we take it?
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:35:40 PM): yeah but i dont have one
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:35:47 PM): i have zero music
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:35:53 PM): i only have Gilmore Girls for entertainment
yellosubmrinechk (11:35:53 PM): pity
yellosubmrinechk (11:36:05 PM): I KNOW!
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:36:12 PM): hahahahahaha!
yellosubmrinechk (11:36:31 PM): stupid!
yellosubmrinechk (11:36:35 PM): i mean i love you
(Natalie keeps sending lots of tomato smilies)
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:36:48 PM): ahh i cant get enough of the tomatoes!!!!
yellosubmrinechk (11:36:53 PM): hehe
yellosubmrinechk (11:36:58 PM): funny
(Natalie sending lots more)
yellosubmrinechk (11:37:38 PM): well now your just showing off
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:37:48 PM): ha no way nerd
yellosubmrinechk (11:37:55 PM): if i knew what binary was would i get to be in your profile
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:38:19 PM): yes, sure
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:38:26 PM): whats binary?
yellosubmrinechk (11:38:37 PM): uhhh.............
yellosubmrinechk (11:38:47 PM): good question
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:39:26 PM): do you know yet?
yellosubmrinechk (11:40:10 PM): Should i know?
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:40:30 PM): um no not really
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:40:36 PM): ill explain it
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:40:51 PM): binary is a way of counting using only 0s and 1s
yellosubmrinechk (11:41:00 PM): cool
yellosubmrinechk (11:41:03 PM): i guess
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:41:10 PM): no no
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:41:13 PM): the cool part is...
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:41:22 PM): that "10" is 2 in binary
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:41:46 PM): so, there are 2 kinds of people in the world...those that understand binary and those who dont
yellosubmrinechk (11:42:00 PM): and those who think its stupid
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:42:37 PM): no, i should get a medal
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:42:41 PM): gold please
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:43:17 PM): people can even write secret codes in binary
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:43:37 PM): now you are smarter for knowing this! arent you excited???
yellosubmrinechk (11:44:44 PM): i'm peeing my pants
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:45:02 PM): um, well, make sure to clean up after yourself
yellosubmrinechk (11:45:24 PM): fine...
yellosubmrinechk (11:45:38 PM): omg i just got the whole binary thing
yellosubmrinechk (11:45:45 PM): the 10=2 thing
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:45:51 PM): haha
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:45:57 PM): so now its funny?
yellosubmrinechk (11:46:08 PM): ya
yellosubmrinechk (11:46:12 PM): hilarious
yellosubmrinechk (11:46:16 PM): and i'm serious
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:46:27 PM): lol
yellosubmrinechk (11:46:52 PM): i think its quite comical and i will now procede to tell everyone i know or dont know for that matter
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:46:57 PM): haha
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:47:05 PM): make sure to say it in a really smart way
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:47:17 PM): oh, and mention that binary is computer language
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:47:22 PM): and say "duh" a lot
yellosubmrinechk (11:48:31 PM): got it
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:48:57 PM): i miss you nick
yellosubmrinechk (11:49:27 PM): i miss you too
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:49:59 PM): people here are not nearly as funny as you
yellosubmrinechk (11:50:09 PM): 5 days 1 hour and 9 min.
yellosubmrinechk (11:50:13 PM): thank you
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:50:14 PM): hahaha
yellosubmrinechk (11:50:26 PM): and people here are stupid
yellosubmrinechk (11:50:29 PM): and not funny
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:50:35 PM): sigh
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:50:47 PM): what are we going to do? ill just not go to college
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:50:51 PM): or you can come with me
yellosubmrinechk (11:50:58 PM): i was typing that
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:51:07 PM): yay for me for typing faster
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:51:11 PM): you suck lol
IaMwOmAn2002 (11:51:16 PM): just kidding!
yellosubmrinechk (11:51:24 PM): uh huh
yellosubmrinechk (11:51:38 PM): so what are you doing

She Said So

I have a promising career ahead of me.
I have a promising career ahead of me.
I have a promising career ahead of me!

Not Meant To Rhyme

I shouldn't be too worried, because, after all, it's not as if this counts "for real." But, because I'm a little bit of a perfectionist, it matters a great deal.

Kirkland House, 8:03 pm

Ok, everyone, I have an announcement. I...have begun...to write.
*Crickets sound all around me*
Not that I've never written before, but...somehow I think this is different. Oh, it will be quite different. So different that I might even finish it, which would be the most different thing about any of my writing. Sigh...
In other news....
Today after classes, Sheema and I stood in our common room, staring into the leering face of Glinda, the flying cockroach. You may think that Glinda is your average flying fiend, but trust me -- she is not. She's a prima donna, complete with a Park Place address and a cigarette a la Humphrey Bogart. She enjoys dust bunnies with tattoos, pizza, and long walks on the ceiling, out of reach of our stomping shoes. Oh yeah, and she basically has a forcefield for a body. I am completely disgusted.
As my days at Harvard grow numbered, I am reminded of all the things that I have to do before I leave. Two papers, due one week from today. Lots of shopping, visiting, etc. Lots of unmentionables. Trying to get excited for school and all that. Ha. Haha. Hahaha. Ok, sorry.
I wonder how I'm going to do all my writing with all the stuff I have to do this crazy senior year. Oh! I know! Procrastinate on everything else! Eh...probably not the best thing to declare. But my year's going to be completely wonky if I don't have something other than schoolwork to concentrate on. Puh.
Hey, has anyone read any really good books lately that they'd care to recommend and/or lend to me? Me like books. Me want books. *grunts and points* I can really see by this blog that my writing skills are positively amazing. What pride and confidence I am filled with!
I think I have said quite enough today without actually saying anything, so, after all, I bid you all adieu. Wow. Why did I just say that? I need medication. Or a Flintstone vitamin.

sooo weird, y'all

omgosh i was just reading an email thing i got about rebel angels and thinking how completely hard it is going to be to wait till i can buy it...and then i got the comment where you said you bought it! how insanely weird is that?? definately a shrieking out loud "oh my god" type weird, for sure. so natalie, you're gonna mail it to me, right? so i can read it before school starts? riiight you are. lol.
in other news, alabama is amazing, and i am soo brown. i absolutely adore the ocean and beach and the sun and just everything about the south. and i am soo good at the accent, i could be a local. just you all wait till i get back, i am gonna annoy the hell out of you. :) heehee. its wonderful here, and i bought you all post cards, except they are crappy ones cuz i got them at walgreens. natalie, i'll send you one at "hahvahd" (did i do that right?) but you need to email me your address cuz i dont have it. well thats all, i suppose.
until another time, lots of love from the coast y'all!
buh-bye, now. (haha i am sooo from the south.)

Libba Bray is SO Cool

Rebel Angels was AMAZING. That's all there is to it. I'm so glad I didn't wait to read it until the end of the month. It was so neat. And I'm glad I got an advance copy; it's an unedited version, so there are some typos and stuff, and I just love stuff like that. Trust me, reading all 548 pages of it was pure heaven. Spooky though. Just brilliant.
I'm off to dinner with Sheema and some other people...lot's more to say another time. Mmm. Life rocks.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

To the coolest blog in the entire world. 1 year old! Our baby's growing up!!!

Two More Weeks...

Basically I'm kind of ticked off because this whiny girl in my journalism class ripped off my idea for a story, and now I have to find an alternate subject. Meh. Anyone know any cool famous people that I can interview and do a profile on? Not majorly famous, mind you, but the author of a good book or something...anything...hey, does anyone have God's phone number?
Ehhh and it was so HOT here today...really gross...and my scene from A Midsummer Night's Dream did not go at all as planned. Really pitiful, to tell the truth. And I have to read Troilus and Cressida before Thursday...apparently it's good, but we shall see. Blah and there is lot's of SAT stuff to look over. I know I know, I am complaining, but I get to because I said so. So there.
Two parts of my day were actually good -- the plan that me and Camille and Josh are going to get crepes tomorrow before we re-rehearse our scene, and the fact that I just got a first edition, advance copy of Rebel Angels, the sequel to A Great and Terrible Beauty, off of ebay. The coolness is that it does not come out until August 23. This made me very happy, ie. dance around my dorm room singing Aretha Franklin songs at the top of my lungs and in my Pooh bear boxers.
Everything else today, though...wow...the scariest is probably the glimpse of the Harvard application. Can you say "The Exorcist?", because I would fully rather be made to watch that movie continuously than tackle that knot of deceptively difficult and categorically double-edged questions that is the Harvard admissions application.
Ehh. This is so the last time I spout my brilliant ideas to whiny Boston girls who pretend they don't know how to say the letter 'R'. Hence the whole "Hahvahd" thing. And yeah, I sooo bought a shirt that says that.
