The World of Little People
All in all, I had a pretty wonderful day. I talked to John in the morning like I always do -- he's so sweet, he never forgets :-D -- and that put me in a good mood from the start. Nikki and I went to BreadCo. for breakfast (again) and Lindsay saw my car there (again), but its all good...once she can drive, she can join Nikki and I in our ritual, which will begin as an every-Monday-morning thing. Even though today is Thursday. Whatever. Homeroom was cool because I helped Liz pick out the crowns for homecoming Queen and court and the scepters for the guys. Well, then, anyways, went to acting for the first class but it was cut short because of the annoying magazine drive assembly thing, where I felt like I was going to pass out because it was so hot and stuffy. Elly kept fanning me with her notebook, but I still felt horrible because my throat was closing up -- this tends to happen when the heat gets to me. So, for the rest of acting as everyone else was watching The King and I, I layed down on the prop couch and tried to actually breathe. It helped that I had study hall right afterward, and I slept pretty much through the whole thing. LOL this poor freshman who sat next to me, I talk to him sometimes when Ms. Aubin isn't watching, he was so worried and kept asking if he could get me something. It was very nice of him, but I pretty much rested the whole time, then got ready for my creative writing field trip. We met in Mrs. Potthast's room and carpooled to The World of Little People, a daycare center. Danielle and I rode with John and Dorothy, and wow, the little kids were so amazing. I talked to this little boy named Alex the whole time -- he was so cute -- and he had tons and tons of interesting things to say. We talked about a lot of things...lots of favorites...he was so smart! He asked me questions about things that I've definitely never thought about before. He asked why the hopscotch only went to 10, and not 11. He told me that his favorite animals were "fairy" dogs...ahem, prairie dogs...which is just so cute... and that he likes the penguins in the zoo because sometimes they jump into to tank and splash you. I also have the same Spongebob folders that he has, and his favorite movie, Pirates of the Caribbean, is also one of my favorites. There is also the infamous "bathing suit" story that had Danielle and I laughing hysterically, so ask me if you want to hear it, it is more funny in person. On the way back, we got to stop at Sonic, and again, Danielle and I were such girls about everything, we could not for the life of us figure out how to pay because we both only had 20 dollar bills, not enough small money to pay. And it took me forever to say I wanted a large Jumbo popcorn chicken, a large being like a medium because it jumps right from snack to large to family. We then went back to the classroom and ate our food and talked about what we learned from the kids. My last class was anatomy, and we got to color our diagram things for awhile and then went to the computer lab. We were supposed to be exploring these anatomy sites, and one of them was a calculator that told you how many calories certain activities burn for certain periods of time. Heh well we found out that if you kneel and pray for 5 straight hours, you burn 250 calories. Directly opposite to that, if you are involved in "vigorous sexual activity" for five hours straight, you burn about 750 calories lol. So we were entertained by that for awhile. After school, I picked up Nikki, went home, then went back out shopping...ahem...yes, well, now I am back home typing on this darling computer and in this dear blog. I do agree with Sarah about this blog...its really necessary....and its a wonderful way to release everything that I'm thinking about. Sometimes it's easy to forget that other people read it, and then you post something and wonder, "Should I really have written that?" But oh well...more important to be honest than nice, I suppose... Mrs. Potthast says that about writing. Well enough for now...there may be another post later tonight...we will see. YNatalieY
