Extra Extra...

No one is ever on time for Student Council. I, myself, arrived at school at about 7:37, and I was definitely not the last one to enter the classroom where we have our meetings -- I saw both Kim and Greg drive into the parking lot as I was heading towards the school, and even more people came into the meeting that I didn't see beforehand. Sheesh, and Student Council is supposed to be slightly important I am thinking. Mrs. Kirchner and Mrs. Hayes never enforce meeting times, which is dumb, because Liebs is a time Nazi. Which, I suppose, turns my attention to cheerleading. We're beginning to get ready for homecoming, Kathy always has cool ideas...that one crazy kick-backy thing might have to go, though, although it provides lots of amusement. Games galore start next week...great... so my schedule will most likely be pretty busy. All around though, the homework load so far this year has been nothing taxing. I look forward to laughing at all the poor slobs who are taking chemistry this year (hahahaha James!) and reminiscing...oh wait...I mean banishing all thoughts of chemistry from my mind. Yeah, that sounds right.
Well, I think it's time to steer my thoughts away from school. Actually, that's kind of hard to do right now because school takes up most of my time and mental energy. I need to relax. At the moment, I kinda feel relaxed, probably because I have absolutely NO homework tonight. It's so great, honestly. But yes, no more school talk...
Lately, I've felt so incredibly safe and comfortable in my room. Before, it always seemed so big and open and, well, not cozy, I suppose, but now...I absolutely love it. I spend so much time in it now, doing homework, and getting online, and listening to music and reading. I've been reading lots of my old books lately, and a couple of days ago I found Sonnets from the Portugese, a collection of poems by my favorite ever poet, Elizabeth Barrett Browning. No, they have nothing to do with Portugal whatsoever, they are flowery love poems. When I was younger, I had an absolute obsession with words. Descriptive words were my favorite, and words that may not have held much meaning for me sounded like music. That's how Elizabeth Browning writes...her words are flowery and musical...when you read them, its as if you can see the music. I don't especially recommend them to anyone because they are the type of poems that most people can't tolerate, but oh! heh wow, they are amazing.
I am talking to Lauren Kostley right now...she is one of my best friends in the world, even though we don't get to talk much...meh death of boyfriends going to college...I've been there.
Time to go though. Nikki and I are going to BreadCo. before school tomorrow. I'm also going on a field trip with my creative writing class...we are going to see little kids and talk to them. It's gonna be great.
